Programme:

Once you have settled in you will have a full day guided visit of Padua, to include visits to:

St Anthony’s Basilica – International Shrine dedicated to St Anthony of Padua. More than 5 million Pilgrims visit each year. The Basilica is known locally as “Il Santo”.

The Abbey & Basilica of St Giustina – houses art dedicated to the Saint Giustina. This Basilica houses the tombs of several Saints.

Carmine Basilica – dates back to the 16th Century – houses the statue of the Madonna del Carmine which is taken traditionally in procession through the streets of Padua every year on July 16th.

The Scrovegni Chapel – completed about 1305, it contains a fresco cycle by Giotto that is one of the most important masterpieces of Western art. It is also known as the Arena Chapel as it was built on land next to the site of a Roman area.

Why not have an optional day excursion to Lake Garda including guiding and a boat trip across the Lake and lunch in local area.
