Birmingham Lourdes Pilgrimage
The Lourdes pastoral theme
Over the next three years, the Sanctuary of Lourdes is inviting us on a spiritual pilgrimage, a journey to the heart of the Virgin Mary’s story. We’ll go step by step, guided by the Gospel of Luke.
Our journey, our hope
2026 : the Annunciation
“Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you” (Lk. 1:28)
This is the year of the welcome, of listening and of the ‘yes’ that changed everything.
2027 : the Visitation
“In those days Mary set out and went with haste…” (Lk. 1 :39)
This is the year of service, of joyful charity and of reaching out to others.
2028 : the Magnificat
“His mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.” (Lk. 1:50)
This is the year of praise, of gratitude and of singing in acknowledgement of God’s wonders.

Birmingham by Air
Travel on the diocesan pilgrimage by Air.
Departing from Birmingham International Airport, we will fly by charter flight direct to Lourdes.
Once in Lourdes we will participate in the pilgrimage program which will be led by Archbishop Bernard Longley.

Birmingham Pilgrimage by Coach
Travel on the diocesan pilgrimage by coach.
There will be a number of coaches departing and crossing by Dover-Calais, then travel through the night to Lourdes before arriving for lunch.
Once in Lourdes we will participate in the pilgrimage program which will be led by Archbishop Bernard Longley.
