Rome, San Giovanni & Assisi

Depart from London to Rome airport and transfer to the city for 3 nights accommodation.
In Rome, you will join in with walking tours and visits to historical and religious sites, with a ticket included for the Papal Audience (subject to the Pope's schedule). Transfer to San Giovanni for 2 nights and whilst there you will visit the shrine of Padre Pio.
Transfer to Assisi (a UNESCO world heritage site) with a stop en route at Lanciano, site of a Eucharistic Miracle. Whilst in Assisi there will visits to the cathedrals of St Francis and St Clair.
This pilgrimage also includes a full spiritual programme.

All the accommodation is on a half-board basis - breakfast and evening meal.

A full spiritual and cultural programme will be organised each day which will include Mass.

Rome - there will be a walking tour to many of the main sites, a half-day coach tour and tickets to the Papal audience (if it is being held).

San Giovanni Rotunda

The stay in San Giovanni Rotunda will be for 2 nights. On the way there will be a stop in Subiaco to visit the Monastery of St Benedict and the cave (Sacro Speco) where he lived.
Whilst in San Giovanni there will be a guided tour of the Shrine of St. Padre Pio, Stations of the Cross and a visit to the English Office, within the Old Church, to view a video on the life of the Saint.


On the way to Assisi there will be a stop at Lanciano, the site of a Eucharistic Miracle. Chiesa di San Francesco (1258), is built over a pre-existing 7th-century church. The high altar houses the relics of the Eucharistic Miracle.
2 nights will be spent in Assisi where there will be a guided tour of the City, including visits to the Basilicas of St Francis and St Clare. There will also be a visit to the Basilica di Santa Degli Angeli.

On the way to the airport there will be a stop in Orvieto for lunch. Orvieto is one of the most striking, memorable, and enjoyable hill towns in central Italy.

Flights will be with British Airways from London Heathrow, direct to Rome, and return.
