Our Poland itineraries visit many of the most famous religious sites including the Zakopane, Cathedral in Krakow, The Salt Mine in Wieliczka, Wadowice - the birth place of Pope John Paul II, The Divine Mercy Basilica in Lagiewniki, and of course the most important Marian shrine in Poland – Jasna Gora in Czestochowa.
There’s a thousand years of living history to be explored.
Krakow’s beauty is self-evident. Both the medieval Old Town and the Wieliczka Salt Mines were added to the original UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. Having escaped destruction during World War II, the city uniquely retains its charming medieval shape, with its central Market Square – the largest in Europe. The Royal Route leads along Grodzka Street up to Wawel Hill from which the Royal Residence and the Cathedral overlook the Vistula River. Wawel Castle is an interesting example of Renaissance architecture, which houses one of the largest collections of tapestries in Europe. The Cathedral was the coronation place of many Polish kings, and their last resting place
An outline itinerary of our Pilgrimage
Monday 29 September
Fly from London Stansted
Transfer to Campanile Hotel, Krakow for 5 nights stay on half board basis.
Evening meal on arrival.
Tuesday 30 September – 4 October
Visits will include:
– Guided walking tour of Krakow with entrances to Wawel Cathedral, St Marys Church and
Collegium Maius Jagiellonian University
– Visit Wieliczka Salt Mine with guide and entrances
– Visit to Shrine of Divine Mercy and John Paul II museum
– Visit to Wadowice at the John Paul II museum and entrances
– Visit Jasna Gora Czestochowa Monastery with guide and entrances
– Entrances and guide at the Auschwitz-Birkenau museum
– Visit Kalwaria Zebrzydowska
Saturday 4 – Monday 6 October
Transfer to Zakopane for 2 nights half board Czarny Potok hotel
Whilst here we will arrange:
– Guided tour of Zakopane with tickets to Gubalowka funicular up and down
– Half day trekking activity with guide and entrance to National Park
– One dinner at local restaurant with folklore show and dance
Transfer to Airport for return flight to the London Stansted
